Map of Message Board Users

Postby dave-r » 23 Oct 2005 9:27

The Mopar club I am a member of just started a map showing the towns where all their members live. I thought it was a very neat and fun idea that would probably work better here as we have members from all around the world.

Go to http://www.frappr.com/challengermessageboardusers
and enter your details. You can add a photograph too. All members on the map will be listed down the side. You just click on the members username and it shows you where they live.

It only shows the rough area where you live so don't worry about security. If you live outside the USA you need to click a link where it asks for a zip code. It may not list very small towns or villages so you might have to cheat a little.

Dave, can you change default view so it shows whole world instead of just USA?

Thanks! I didn´t get the photo in my first try. When I added the photo, the text was added another time. Computers.....Or maybe SBK (Shit Behind the Keyboard)? :s022: :s023:

I wonder if the guys working on the production line back in the 1970's ever imagined how far the cars would travel across the world!

I see your picture but I don't see you listed as a member. Just try again and see what happens.

I have to say. You don't get many controls for the map in "admin" mode. I have found it is easier to delete myself and start again rather than update the text or photo.

What a cool feature. :s017:

It's nice to be able to see where we all are in the world.

What can I say? You put your name in one box, your zip code in the next, a message in the third box, browse for an image on your pc with the next box. Then click "add me".

It should work?

If not maybe it is the security settings on your internet explorer or something?

It is the text people see when they click on your name or balloon. If you add an image the image appears over the text.

If it is not in their database it can't do it. Try a bigger town close by?
