I found a 1971 Challenger R/T 340 4spd the Vin is JS23H1B****** how rare is this car can someone give me numbers. Also how much would it be worth it has a small rust hole in the roof and has 2 or 3 rusted quarter panels also needs paint.
Thanks
Whoah that is one rare car only 312 from the factory I wonder how many are left. I gotta ask this guy if he want to sell it now its been sitting for 11yrs at a gas station. How much do you think it is worth?
Thanks
A "small rust hole in the roof" usually means that by the time you take the headliner out and taken it back down to bare metal you don't have a roof left at all.
If it was obvious it needed two new quarters chances are it is rotten all the way through.
Well that panels have rust along the edges and some bubbled paint. I looked under the car looks pretty good there is some rust aome of the chrome on the car has absolutly no rust on it though. The engine also only has 1 or 2 dime sized rust on the outside.
The underside of the car looks alot like this pic i foun on ur site http://challenger.mpoli.fi/forum/download.php?id=1500
It is impossible for any of us to even guess what it is worth without going over the car in person.
All you can do is offer him $2000 and see what he says.
The way things are right now people are paying silly money for these cars. They are not worth it but if someone wants one bad enough and they have that sort of money they will pay anything.
All you can do is get the best deal you can. There will always be someone else who will offer more than you no matter how high you go.
Work out how much the car will be worth when restored to a "looks OK" level (nothing too fancy) and use this as a guide price to keep under.
Add up what you think it will cost you to make the car that good.
Then double that figure to get what it will really cost and deduct that from your guide price. The figure left over is the top price you should pay for the car.
I just got around to asking the guy whos gas station it was in and he said...
it wasnt for sale.It wasnt his car it was his friends and he is reparing everything mechanically wrong with it (for 5+ years). And it was an AAR 71 challenger.I think the guy is full of crud. I asked him why it didnt have any AAR stuff and he said he just bought some and had it in his shop. Im pretty sure it is numbers matching though
