What is a good rear wheel and tire setup for weekend drag racing
doing 1/8 mile and 1/4 mile test and tune type stuff that wont rub
the wells or quarters of a stock 70 challenger R/T 440-6 pack?

Thanks! :s002:

Try 8" x 15" rear wheels with the correct backspacing (4" Dave?), and 275x 60x 15 Hoosier Quicktimes or Mickey Thompson ET Street Radials. Both will give you ample grip with a quick burnout before each run.

Maybe 4.5 backspace? I can't remember. There have been so many threads on this subject I tire (gettit?) of it.

If it was me I would just get under the car with a tape measure and compare with the existing wheel and tire combo. I don't understand why people are so reluctant to do the same?
