New to the List and Challengers

Hello Challenger Message Board!

My name is Curt and I am new to this list. I was a B-Body guy in Highschool and college and recently I have been dreaming about getting another Mopar. Well my wife knew I wanted one and she gave me her blessings and I was off to find a car. Originally I was in search of a B body six pack, but it was tough finding a good car. My wife liked Challengers
when we were looking at pictures so I included them in my search. Nothing strong came up until Jack's EV2 Challenger that most of you are familiar with presented itself as an option. Well I jumped on it!
So the car will continue it's 35th year on the planet with me.

This is my first 4:10 Auto Mopar. My other 3 were all 3:23 4 speed cars,
so needless to say I am getting used to driving at much lower speeds.
It is fun to go from 0 to 90 in a hurry though!
First thing I am doing to the car is a tune up and some tranny adjustments
so I can take it to the local 1/8 mile track and use it the way it is meant to be used. I can't wait for a good old fashioned muscle car grudge match!

Anyway I am looking forward to being a part of this message board.

I to am new to the board.. So far it Great to talk to other Challenger owners We live for speed and the Class that stand alone :evil:

We have one E body and servral other Mopars When I say we I mean Myself Rick the technition who Builds the cars from the ground up :shock:

and My good friend George Who works along side of Me, and pays attention to the Details to make a good car.. :idea:

Thanks for the welcome!
It is a great car and have no fear it is in good hands.
Living in Southern California and having a two car garage It will
continue to be pampered. The car only needs a couple little things.
A good tune up, and some trans work it should be good to go.
Once I get my tools back out and set up I plan on doing most of the
maintenance and detail work myself. Haven't turned a wrench in quite a few years, but I have done several cars in high school and college and I know it will come back to me pretty quick.

My first book will be the 70 Challenger Service manual.
Any other good book suggestions?

Welcome Curt,
Hope your car puts a smile on your face like mine does when I drive it!
When I was a kid, my Dad bought a Mercedes 230 SL which he loved to bits and was always going out for drives in it. When I used to ask him where he was going, he would say: "There and back to see how far it is". I never understood this phrase until I got my Challenger! Now I tell my kids the same thing when I go out on a Sunday morning! :mrgreen:
