Overseas Mopar Muscle subscription problems

Postby Joakim » 04 Jan 2005 23:03

I am a subscriber to Mopar Muscle Magazine for over a year. The November issue didn´t show up in my mailbox :tears:. Filling out the form on their webpage to get a replacement copy the problem would be solved, I thougt.

But no, now it all begins. In the first e-mail answer from MMM my replacement copy of November issue shold be in my hands some 2-3 weeks later. MMM is also telling that the December issue is en route and I should recive it by 9 November.

By the 16 November I still have no copies of neither issues. Another e-mail to MMM and asking where the copies are. New answer from MMM the day after telling me that there is a 4-5 weeks delay for overseas subscribers. (Strange, beacuse all previous issues has come a month in advance.)

By the 12 December I still have no November and December copies and my patience is out. New mail to MMM and a new answer. Guess what!! They are telling me that the November is permantly out of stock. They are also telling that the December and January is sent to me and I should receive within 6 weeks. (Rembember that December copy which I should get by 9 November?)

Today I recived a copy the March issue

So, can anyone of you guys tell me where the February issue is? Beacuse I don't believe MMM got the answer.

BTW I think I will ask them anyway, just for fun...

I've seen posts regarding similar problems in finnish forums lately. It's not only MMM, but also other magazines coming from USA.

I used to have this problem when I got my magazines via a company that specialises in importing american magazines. Mopar Action in particular used to go missing at least once a year.

Since then M.A. is the only mag I get and I get that direct from the USA now. In the last three years I have not lost a single copy.

The only difference is that my magazine now comes in a plain wrapper so you cannot see what it is. When it used to go missing it was wrapped in clear plastic. I always wondered if someone in the postal service was stealing them?

Interesting that you have had problems too. I am now waiting on four months worth of issues of MMM! The distribution company is based in Florida, the printer in Germany, the editor in Atlanta and so on. I have sent the distibutor 12 emails so far and had one reply. The worst money I have ever invested and I will not be renewing my subscription (for what purpose anyway, since I don't get the bloody magazine).

I think you are right on spot there, Dave. It probably makes a big difference, if it is possible to see what´s inside the envelope or not.

I have just recently renewed my Mopar Action subscription. I hope it will work out OK. I had no problems at all when I subscribed on Mopar Action during 2001-2002.

Congrats on another front cover and 5 page spread (this time in American Car World) Steve. That is a geat shot of you driving the car. I think I will scan it sometime over the weekend and post it on here for the other members to see.

Further to my previous comments about MMM, I have sent them a somewhat critical, if not scathing email :fight: , detailing my concerns about the non arrival of my past issues, along with the nightmare I had when renewing my subscription with them. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with the inept distributor they use, their underpaid staff or the postal services in Germany or here in Australia, however it is something they have to sort out, not me! After all, as I pointed out in my email, "I am the client and I have not received the service or product I have paid for in good faith".

Below are the contact email addresses I have for their reps and I encourage you to send them an email too. My concerns were replied to in a very timely manner (only because I threatened to tell everyone I know what I thought about them) and they have promised to send me copies of the past 6 months issues and to resolve problems with their subscriber services.

Her is a copy of the email I received from Jerry Pitt, the publisher. Hope this helps you all

Dear Mr. Bettoni:

As publisher of Mopar Muscle, I am very interested in making sure that you as a reader and subscriber to Mopar Muscle magazine are fully satisfied.

In the short term, I am going to forward to you the last six copies of Mopar Muscle magazine as a good will gesture to help restore your faith in PRIMEDIA and Mopar Muscle magazine.

While I cannot personally see to it that each subscription copy is sent to you in Australia, I will forward this note to our subscription team in Los Angeles and ask them to investigate your subscription and see to it that your issues are put to rest.

I hope that my effort to satisfy your request has been met in a timely fashion while at the same time I develop a relationship with you where we can ask for your opinion on routine basis as it relates to future content. We are currently building a database of Mopar enthusiasts worldwide who will be asked to contribute their candid comments about future issues and ideas that we will post on a website exclusively set aside to a Mopar "focus group."

Please reply to this memo and affirm you would like to be on such a "focus group." In the meantime, we will fulfill our responsibility and see to it that you receive your copies of Mopar Muscle going forward.

Thank you!
