Shocking (Shock) Situation

Postby roadrunner » 26 Nov 2004 10:54

I finally got around to removing the rear shocks from my 70 340 Challenger. These are the original shocks. If you have a Challenger and the rear shocks have never been removed I have a tip. Take it to a good muffler shop and schedule it so the shop person has about 3 hours to work on it. You will most likely need to cut them off. In addition, someone will need to be in the trunk to put the nut on the top bolt.

I am glad this part of the project is over. What a pain. The car does set a little higher and ride better though. :)

I don't think they worked at all!! In fact the upper part of one shock had a rust hole in it.

Since I am the third owner of this beast and all of us live within 1 mile of each other I KNOW for a fact they were NEVER changed.

Maybe it is a record!!

Come to think of it. Wonder how many Challenger owners can say all the owners of the car still live within 1 mile of each other? Probably not too many. :D
