Factory Challenger Side Door Mirrors

Postby roadrunner » 23 Oct 2004 13:23

Guess I will call these pod mirrors. Well at any rate, the pod where the mirror sets is loose on the post that attaches to the door. Any way to tighten these up? Do you remove the mirror or????

The factory used theaded inserts in the doors that rivited in place. You can replace these. (See other threads in this section)

If someone has fitted these mirrors themselves they might have used bolts or sheet metal screws instead. In that case you will have to take the door panel off and have a look to see what is going on.

Dave, I don't think I explained this properly.
It's not where the mirror attaches to the door itself. I can see 2 phillips screws there. It's where the pod (with the mirrow) attaches to the post The post then is attached to the door. So to tighten this up I would need to remove the mirror from the pod (I think).
So the quesion is: How do you get to the bolts/screws behind the moirror?

You'll take the mirror off the door. the screws holding the Pod to the base are found from the inner area of the base.
