Thanks for helping me out, but I have another question. After I bolted the tranny up (to car, no engine yet), I noticed a problem (I think?) In the tail section of the tranny below the speedometer opening, shouldn't there be a spot to bolt up a bracket to hold the bottom of the rod coming down from the console shifter? All there appears to be is a single plug in that area, and I don't know how the bracket will bolt on.

Any photos of that area would be appreciated. I saw an earlier post where someone asked about Summit asking if a 727 was for a column shift or console shift. This isn't from Summit, but could that be a difference?

I REALLY can't wait to get this in and move on to the engine where I am quite a bit more comortable!

Got that one. I need to see what the tranny looks like where the support bracket (by the rear adjustable swivel) bolts onto it.

PERFECT! Unfortunately, the tranny they gave me does not have the two tabs with the holes. The tranny is just smooth under that section on the tail section. There is no place to mount that bracket. I will have to contact the main company that sent the tranny (through a supplier) and see what is going on.

The opening for the speedometer adapter is lined up with the vertical rod from the console shift. This could put the speedo cable in a position to rub against that rod.

Any other insights into this would be appreciated.

To all who have viewed this: The problem is hopefully solved.

The company (Accurate Transmissions) looked into it and have found me the correct tail section for the tranny. The one that is on now is not the correct one. I will have to change it, but that is probably easier than having to load up and package this tranny and retrieve and unload the other one.

Even though they made a mistake, they corrected it quickly and were very helpful and friendly to deal with. Quality remains to be seen, but so far I would gladly deal with them again if needed.
