Thanks for the tips. One question I have is in regards to the bolt pattern on the tranny - does the 727 not use the top center bolt hole on the engine? The tranny I got didn't have it and my brother's truck (with a 318/727) does not have it either.
Thought that to be rather strange.
What is the main difference in the flex plates? The one I have off the 904 is extremely close to lining up - two opposite ones do, while the other two are just off enough that the bolts won't start in the threads in the converter. I did not get measurements off the converter (no tape measure at the time.) I will check that tomorrow.
I'll be shopping for linkage. Bought a remanufactured tranny and don't have all the linkage. From the 904 I have the column lock shaft assembly, but none of the stuff on the transmission. Anyone got some for sale????
