trunk extensions

Hey members I need help. the trunk extensions I bought from
shermans are about 1/2'' to wide and 1'' to long.
should I cut them or send them back and buy new ones.
let me know.

Have you been in contact with Sherman regarding this problem? (Sherman have a good reputation, as far as I know)
If all of their extensions have the same size, you will be forced to massage them in some way.
If the problem is that the measurements differs between the batches (less likely I guess), you will maybe be better off if you return them. Ask them! :roll:

I don't think any of their panels are a very good fit. They all need some work.

I have to admit that I was in guessing mode :oops:

They are a quite large supplier, arenĀ“t they? In some cases the only supplier, or....? That means that we are forced to live with their quality shortcomings? :?

I had a similar problem with sherman parts except they were too short.I ended up junking them and getting a much better ext. from a place here in ca. The web site themoparshop.com.hope that helps

Actually sheetmetal repair parts that are too large really aren't a problem and often resto parts are produced with an extended flange to help the restorer in bridging some of the gaps due to factory inconsistencies during orginal assembly or the fact that the relationship between all of the sheetmetal tends to change after a car has been on the road for 30 years, bent frames etc. If it's too long, just trim it.

AND BOUGHT THE DIE STAMPED ONE,
AND THEY FIT REAL WELL.
