1970 Hood latch apearance?

Postby Brant » 28 Jul 2004 19:58

I will be dealing with my 70 hood latch (with lever) tonight. Does anyone know if it is all black (satin-like). or is the latch not painted at all? Majority of the ones I've seen are black - I think?

Thanks guys.

I couldn´t resist buying the latest number of Mopar Action, and guess what I found? A reference ´70 Challenger! Not painted!

That is the Challenger that I was searching for many years ago now when the original owner contacted me. I see they used some of his old family photos in the article. He sent me a bunch of them. It was amusing seeing a Hemi convertible beeing used for towing a boat!

I am glad the car has been found and restored.

Harold Jackson (the primary owner of Jackson Dodge) remembers that this car came off the trailer with a 2-foot square yellow cardboard sign on the dash that said CAUTION! HEMI!. Amusing is the word!!!!
(He also said that he had sold a lot of Hemicars over the years, and this was the only car to have such a sign.)
