sorry to bother you all i'm new to this message board (my very first post) i'm having some problems finding some information on this. my dad has a 73 340 4barrel ralleye challenger he bought it off the showroom floor and everything on it is original. i was cleaing up the engine bay for him to take to a car show and i noticed a tag that says "VEHICLE EMISSION CONTROL INFORMATION" its green and white it just says "340cu LA family" what does the LA family mean exactly? thanx for any information you can give me sorry for the "newb" post
In a nutshell though LA just means 'Light A engine' because they developed new casting techniques that allowed them to re-design the old A-engine and make it lighter.
