on my '74 challenger , I've got a rusty front bumper and a rear bumper full of dents, I want to replace them but without those ugly rubber cushions/extra guards(you know what I mean)
Can I replace them with '70-'71 bumpers or is there a difference?

There is a difference and I believe this has been covered on this board before. Just do a search for bumper and you will find out all kinds of info. As for the ugly rubber guards, I just removed them from my bumpers and polished the bumpers up and it made the car look much better.
