Don't go to pistolgrip727, go get the best out there www.harmsauto.com There's are tilt grips with NO trigger. Yes they will fit straight on to your 71-74 shifter. 8)
I'll be getting one. To engage gears you give the handle a decent push down and shift back or forward, thats it easy.
They cost $300 USD but they can make you a custom handle, want more tilt? They'll do it, want a different shift pattern up top (PRDN21) They'll do it.......for an extra $30.
I think there a great shifter and if you don't like it, just send it back for a free no questions asked money back return!

Sheesh does this sound like an add or what LMAO!! Anyway that's my opinion............ 8) :D

The HARMS grip above won't slip into gear, I'm pretty sure they would have sorted that bug out ages ago. LOL!!
Like I said all you need to do to get from Park to Drive is give it a decent or solid push down. DOWN, not up or across. :D So unless you have an unusual shifting style you'll be fine.
But your call, be good if we can see the photos of the shifter........ 8)
