Postby kennyb » 26 Feb 2004 4:37

Does anyone have any production figures on the 71 Challenger Convert. 340 4 speeds? I cannot locate any figures for 71, only 70. Thanks for any info.

You are right, That is an excellent site. Thanks. It shows total with hardtops and convertables for 1971. I guess the I could look at the ratios from 1970 and get a rough idea what the approximate number would be for 71. Thanks, Ken

Then again....

Now I have looked it up the breakdown of figures for 340 convertables do not exist.
As mentioned already above, Chrysler lumped the 340 hardtop and convertible figures together, so we don't know how many of each were made or how they brake down into auto/man trans.

They only separated out the figures for the 383 big block. The 440 and 426 not being available in the convertible that year as there was no R/T version.

Well who cares eh? Still a fine and rare car you have whatever the numbers were. :)

That's Ok! You don't have to feed my ego! :D I guess I just feel bad that I cannot get the much needed updated version of my web pages finished. It is hard for me to accept that my 'baby' just is not the best out there now.

But every dog has his day.

UPDATE!

Just found these figures in my pile of notes.

1971 340 Convertible. 176 made, 11 with shaker hood.

That is the best I can do. But you can guess the 4-speed number has to be around 70-80 units?
