I think there were quite a lot made that month. Hundreds at the very least I would guess. There does seem to have been some delays in the first couple of months of production. Actual build dates can be be anything up to about 3 weeks later than the scheduled date on the tag.

Fine example you have there BTW. I like that colour.

Dave I have a 70 that was built on aug 18 69 and am curious also about early built Challengers.Mine was built in LA and is number 100179.I would like to hear what prod number yours is that would give us an idea how many were being built in a day. Also mine has a few odd options for a 318 car.Rally gauges,Chrome racing mirrors both sides black and white interior and all the blacked out areas that a r/t would have around the taillight area and grill.I have yet to find the build sheet but have not looked that hard either.Have you found yours and was it built in LA? If you did find it maybe mine will be in the same area.Tony

I don't think the LA cars had built sheets left in them mine didn't. Barry (AlaskanTA) could tell you more. Mine is a 70 A66 built in LA October 1969.

Like the color of DaveFK5's car!

DaveFK5's car was built in the Hamtramck plant ("B" in the VIN) so the numbers will not mean anything to you.

There were a lot more made in the Hamtramck plant than in the smaller LA plant. Also the VINs were issued when the car was ordered and does not indicate exactly when that car came down the line as they were not always made in order.
