73 Challenger 340
Ran for about 3 days noticed it running weak replaced fuel pump, no help, replaced Holley carb with Edel, replaced plug wires and now the car only cranks with a sputter now and then. Checked the firing order it's correct according to the Haynes, scratching my head on this, just bought it from a guy who owned it for 26 years, maybe she misses him, Help if you can, could the coil be bad or the electronic ignition box?? I don't know....Bill

So did you replace the carb and the spark wires at the same time or did you replace one thing at a time and it was still getting worse?

what I am getting at is did it run poor after the carb change and then not at all after you changed the plug wires?
You could have installed the wires wrong.

Did it run poor right from the moment you got it?

Go to the electrical section here read up on checking the engine electrical ground (chassis) connection etc. Also read up on how to set the timing. There is a bit in there on finding TDC and fitting the wires on in the right order.

Pull out the lead from the middle of the distributor cap and hold it an eighth of an inch from a good engine ground. Get someone to crank it and see if you get a good spark.

Is there plenty of fuel getting to the carb? Not a blocked fuel filter or anything?

At this stage there are so many things that could be wrong it is difficult to come up with good answers.
