just went and had a look under the dodge to see if I had torque box's (wishful thinking ) It must have been a friday car cause they forgot to put them in, oh well. I then looked under two of my aussie valiants and they have them and the biggest motor that we got in the valiant's was the 360 most of them were hemi six though.

Ok, question number one, what the heck is a torque box? Question two, are you sure you don't mean hemis and slant-six's? I don't think Chrysler ever built a hemi six cylinder.

Chrysler did build a hemi six for the Australian market, and a mighty fine power plant it was too, especially with triple side draught weber carbs stuck to it!

Torque boxes are braces around the suspension pick up points that add a lot more strength to that area, usually found on convertables and Hemi cars, although my old 340 Duster had them.

Just as an aside, the 245 & 265 cid hemi six pack left all the others for dead in Australia, including the more popular Ford 351 and GM 350 in our racing events of the early '70's. They're still running hard and I believe they are extremely popular in the US if you can find one. Some guy in California has a couple of Aussie Chargers both with hemi six's and still RHD.
I believe that these six cylinder hemis were developed in Australia, independent of Chrysler in the US.
