I have a '72 Challenger, 318, 2 barrel, automatic, with electronic ignition. Could you tell me what degree to set the timing at and at what RPM? Thanks for your help. Jeff
There might be some other threads in there that you might find useful.
As for actual timing you want 34-38 degrees total. With todays bad fuel I would lean toward the lower number. As the above threads will explain total = initial timing advance (at idle) + centrifugal advance at about 4000 rpm or whenever the distributor stops advancing.
Just make sure you dissconnect and plug the vacuum advance first.
Your initial idle advance should end up around 10-12 degrees BTDC.
