with that said dave, re the dodgy build sheets/fender tags, i've had several cars that i broke that i couldnt decipher the vin code on, in any books, maybe the guy making them had a hangover or something, thats not to say that the codes were all wrong, its just the vin didnt add up correct, i've also been offered cars that i couldnt make too much sense of, for eg, a dodge w200 (that i actually bought for myself) had a rediculous vin, it looked original so i cant say otherwise but the regular cab according to the vin was a crew cab, it was also supposed to be 2wd not w 4wd, the engine was correct as was other things, but then there were xtra numbers that added to nothing or that made it correct if you read it different !, it was ex usaf so perhaps they modified things but it all looked original !, what can yer do ??!!, sometimes they jut dont add up,
