I have a non-Rallye Cluster on my 70', and I would like to someday put a rallye in it becuase of the tach. Does a rallye cluster fit in the space of a non-rallye cluster? Also, did 4-speed cars come equipped with a tach or not?
4-speed cars equipped with the Rallye cluster did have a tach. Lots of folks have converted from standard to Rallye so it shouldn't be an insurmoutable problem.
yes it can be done but make sure that when you get a rally dash that the botton left piece that has the heating controls comes with it or you will have a big hole below the dash- also get the 4 light bar above the dash-standard dashes are just a three light unit. you then will need to feed bat power to the clock, ign power to the tach and then wire from the neg.side of the coil to the tach for the signal. get a factory manual- it really helps- John Mac
i think the easiest way to do it gerrard is get a rt wiring harness from someplace like yr one it will have all the plug ins lights ect and the job will look/be professional, also you need the ralley lightbar - i am not sure if thats what its called though
I just finished doing this. It's a simple bolt in. I used the old wiring warness and connected the old gauge leads to the new ones. Youwill have to split off a positive lead for the clock and tach but you can pull these from the receptical for your radio. Mine had three females and only one was being used so there was no splicing involved. Mechanically, it's a simple bolt in.
