Sayin' Goodbye...and Hello!"

Postby cv70chall » 09 Mar 2015 21:21

The small block 360 was removed and put to rest this past week, paving the way for the upgrade on my Chally.
Freshened 440 was then built, prepped and the car was lowered onto it. Pretty cool to be a part of this wrench-turning event and to watch the change take place.
I'll post more pics as I have the time and a link to the Cam break-in we did.

Can't wait to get it and step on the gas!

Just watched it on YouTube Chuck
Bet you can't wait to stab that throttle & watch those radials burn can ya?
Actually what you'll love the most is the instant shove in the back at 50-60 when you barely stroke the pedal, you'll feel the weight of the motor but you'll appreciate the huge reserves of torque.
Almost every one goes on about small blocks being better to drive than big blocks but really I think that a mild street HP 440 with some aluminium components is pretty manageable.

I could not agree more. We took her for a test drive- got on 95 and punched it. NICE!
Issues after returning to the shop involved both valve covers leaking a bit (as they tend to do on big blocks). We changed gaskets, added some Permatex Ultra Grey- and let her sit overnight.
Should be good to go today.
I'm going to get 10gals of Rec90 gas and we'll tune her again.

Oh and yeah- spun the crap outa those BFGs!
