If so how good are they, easy to fit, etc - anyone done it please........?
Just looking for some pointers before I splash any cash.....
Reason for asking is because I know that Mustang fibreglass hoods (Shelby copies) are rubbish !

You will have to do some body work , and some fitment and also if you want a safety catch you will have to do some fibreglass/metal work work as well,they are one size fits all and as we know all cars are not created equal

I wanted a T/A hood for my car, so I got hold of Hans at SixPack Speedshop, (they're coming to the Euronats this year) and they' offered me a really nice street weight GRP hood, delivered to the Pod for less than 600 quid.
Alternatively contact Dale at DRE fibreglass, loads of mma members use him, excellent quality and he'd mould in the hinges and latch. Pin on does look cool tho

I second the 'Dale at DRE' route. It was some years ago now, but I got a six- pack hood from him/ them. Had to wait for a few weeks, but the quality was very good. Actually, it was the straightest part on the car.

Harms Auto / surprisegarage.com sold steel ta scoops around 10 years ago. Tried to buy one back then without luck, they had two years worth of orders already to fill and just one guy in Peru making them by hand.

Harms auto contact in Peru was Domingo Cicirello (domingo426@gmail.com). Someone named Daniel was manufacturing actual scoops. You could try contacting Domingo. Quick googling shows recent posts from him with offers of other types of products, including reproduction mopar steel scoops.

When I was dealing with Domingo Cicirello from Peru South America we were having steel hood scoops made by a very talented metal craftsmen named Daniel. Daniel was always a very busy guy (we weren't his only customer and he worked alone) and he had a tough time delivering in a timely fashion (weeks turned to months, months turned to years). He built nearly all of our hand made hood scoops, rear window louvers, finish detailed our torque boxes, and all kinds of other custom hand made steel and aluminum items. I would send original hood scoops to Domingo and he took them to Daniel to have them replicated and to make patterns, when orders were done Domingo would pack them up and send them to me for resale.

At first it was fine, normal 4-6 week turn around for orders, but as our business grew it was starting to take a painfully long time to get new orders filled, and due to assosiated customer issues we decided to stop taking new orders for them. We had patterns for the 64/65/67 Hemi Scoops, 63/64 Max Wedge Scoops, 70 T/A Scoops, and the 691/2 Six pack Scoops.

If you contact Domingo he might be able to get you one built, I can't say as we are no longer in business together. They were expensive, (I was selling them for $699.00) but a VERY fine product, so if you do have the chance to get one I'd reccomend it, the parts are amazingly nice and 100% hand constructed.

Of course all TA and AAR hoods were fiberglass from the factory and they did not fit as well as steel either. I doubt for any reasonable price will you find a steel TA hood if at all.
