ULP_PPE Version 1.4 Beta

10-25-94
--------
Version 1.4 didn't work correctly. It would display the ERROR# message
file to the user who had a failed upload, but it wouldn't send out the
canned ERROR#.TXT message to the user.

I fixed the problem, but then found another problem. After the user
finished his failed upload, and returned to the main menu, he would
immediately be notified by PCBoard of mail waiting (the canned ERROR#.TXT
message).

So, I changed the procedures around and now ULP_PPE will send the message
after the user logs off, so he will get it on his next call.

Therefore you will need to add an additional line to your $$LOGOFF.BAT
file to handle this. (refer to the ULP_PPE.DOC for more information
on this.

--------
No longer dos ULP_PPE require the use of a third party utility like
TXT2MSG to insert canned failed upload messages to uploaders. This
is all handled internally by ULP_PPE now!

And Yes, the docs are *still* as bad as they were since the 1st version <g>

--------
Ok. Minor (but stupid!) problem fixed! Somewhere between version
1.0 and version 1.2, I screwed up the sample PCBTEST.BAT file.

I had "end" at the end of each routine instead of "goto end", which
caused alot of sysops to mention that the PPE works fine, and they
error message displays just fine, but just before it displays, they
see bunch of "bad command" messages. Fixed.

No other changes in this release. Just modified the sample PCBTEST.BAT
to make it work correctly again.

--------
Sorry folks, I made a HUGE error! I forgot to include a sample
PCBTEST.BAT file in ULPPPE11.ZIP! This and the fact that I
didn't explain in the DOC's to users of the first version
(ULP_PPE Version 1.0) that you MUST edit all occurences of
"3party/ulp/failtxt" to the path of the $$ULP$$ on your own
system!

Also, that you should edit the line that runs ULP in PCBTEST.BAT
to reflect the paths on your own system!

This has been remedied by being explained in the DOCs of ULPPPE11.ZIP
as well as the latest release ULPPPE12.ZIP.

As a result, alot of people have been unable to get this program
to work! It was a careless mistake on my part, sorry.

A new version will be out and will include everything needed under
filename ULPPPE12.ZIP.

If you already have 1.0 and 1.1, just use the PCBTEST.BAT from
1.0 (ULP_PPE.ZIP) and modify as indicated in the 1.1 DOCs.

If you don't have 1.0, but only have 1.1, then download 1.2 and use
the PCBTEST.BAT file included in the archive (modified as indicated
above, of course!).

Released ULP_PPE Version 1.1 Beta. Only includes the file I left
out $$ULP$$ which is required by the program. Also includes revised
documentation.
