This command allows you to (L)ist the contents of @X0F@FILENAME@@X0E,
(R)ead files inside it and search for text while reading, (F)lag
individual files for download, and (S)elect other files to view.
@X0FSubcommands
@X0BL@X03 The List of contents in @X0F@FILENAME@@X03 will automatically
be displayed when it is first selected for viewing. Use the L
command to List the contents and see your activity again.
You may enter L alone to list all of the files, or you may list
only those files that meet a filename specification. Enter a
[SPACE] after the L, then the filename. You may include wildcards
in the filename if desired, for instance "L *.DOC" (do not enter
the quotes) would display files in @FILENAME@ with an extension
of .DOC.
@X0BR@X03 You may Read files contained within @X0F@FILENAME@@X03.
This command will pop up a lightbar menu with the files in the
archive. You can view any of those file by moving the cursor
to the desired file and pressing enter to view it. If there
are more files in the archive then fit on one page you can use
the '>' to go one page down and '<' to go one page up.
@X0BW@X03 This command will prompt you for a file within @X0F@FILENAME@ @X03to view.
Wildcards may be used. For instance, if you want to Read all
of the files, enter @X0FW @X03and then *.*@X03. If you wanted to read just
those files with a .DOC extension enter @X0FW @X03and then *.DOC@X03. You will
be asked before Reading each file which matches your wildcard
specification if you want to Read it. Select View/Skip or Quit to
Abort the wildcard file find and return to the File View prompt.
The Sysop may have limits set governing the size of the file
you may Read or how much of the file you may Read.
At the "More" prompt which appears at the end of each page of a
text file, you will see the following lightbar subcommands:
(@X0BUP@X03) Redisplays the previous page
(@X0BDOWN@X03) Displays the next page
(@X0BNONSTOP@X03) Displays the remaining pages nonstop
(@X0BQUIT@X03) Stop viewing the current file
@X0BF@X03 You may Flag individual files for separate downloading.
The file which contains your Flagged files is @X0F@FLAGFILE@@X03
and must be downloaded from the main PCBoard command prompt.
An information file will be included in @FLAGFILE@ so you
will have a reference as to where the individual files came
from. The Sysop may have limits set regarding Flagging and
you will be informed of them during program operation.
@X0BI@X03 You may Inventory the contents of @X0F@FLAGFILE@@X03. The contents
of @FLAGFILE@ will be displayed, along with the compressed
file name from which each file in @FLAGFILE@ originated.
@X0BS@X03 You may Select other (compressed) files to view from the
File View prompt, without returning to the main PCBoard prompt.
@X0BC@X03 You may view the CRC value of all files. The files within
@X0F@FILENAME@@X03 will be re-displayed with their CRC value listed
in the 'Other Information' column.
@X0BE@X03 You may view Extra technical information in a ZIP or ARJ file.
When (E) is selected, the following technical information for
each file in a ZIP or ARJ is displayed:
* Type : This is 'text' or 'binary' mode as determined by PKZIP
or ARJ while compressing each file in @FILENAME@.
* Host OS: This is the operating system that @FILENAME@ was
created in (DOS, Amiga, Unix, and others).
* Made by: The version of PKZIP which created each file in
@FILENAME@. It is the "Rev #" for ARJ files.
* ZIP -AV: ZIP only. This will display whether or not each member
file contains an 'Authenticity Verification' stamp.
NOTE: The F V function does not test the validity
of the -AV stamps, it simply displays if an -AV
stamp exists for each member file.
@X0BB@X03 Brief listing of @X0F@FILENAME@@X03 contents. Only the file name,
the uncompressed length, and "other information" columns are
displayed in the brief listing format. You may enter B alone to
list all of the files, or you may list only those files that meet
a filename specification. Enter a [SPACE] after the B, then the
filename. You may include wildcards in the filename if desired,
for instance "B *.DOC" (do not enter the quotes) would display
files in @FILENAME@ with an extension of .DOC.
@X0BT@X03 Transfer Time Information. This displays the number of minutes
it would take to download the compressed file currently being
viewed, along with its total actual size. Also displayed is the
same information for the flagged file that contains any files
flagged for separate downloading.
@X0BX@X03 You may toggle the menu display on or off.
@X0BP@X03 Program information. This command displays the version and
registration information about the File View program.
@X0BFLAG@X03 Entering the word FLAG will cause @X0F@FILENAME@@X03 to be
flagged for download when the F V function ends.
