* General information and greetz

DamChat is the first real cewl chatter ever released with only some
necessary functions and features. It's therefore one of the fastest
chatters available right now. You can swap ansi screens/Xy sets
  by pressing the F4 key.

  Greetz fly out to:
Vertigo - thanx for the daily testing dude
Mad Max - for saying it rewls..
ehr.. dunnow who can be greeted... hehe.. all of u (using damchat)

─ DÆMCHÆT ──────────────────────────────────────────────────── Generation I ─

* Installing DamChat

Well, that's the easy part, just throw damchat in one of the directories
you want. DamChat will also search for all other files in the directory
where it resists so put the ansi's in that dir as well!
You have now installed DamChat. For the commandline options, just
type DAMCHAT /? and some examples will be shown.

Type the following to configure DamChat:
  C:\BBS\CHAT\DAMCHT CFG

You can change all standard settings in that screen,
use (shift-)TAB and ENTER to move the cursor-position.
There are two different screen-combinations possible, and you must
  configure these first.

The XY coordinates are located in the upper-part of the screen, you
can change the coordinate-set by pressing F1 (sorry.. this changing is
only available when editing colors or the yelltime.
The filenames of the ansi's are:
  DAMCHT1.ANS - for the first coordinate-set
  DAMCHT2.ANS - for the second coordinate-set

* There are some things to pay attention too, some X/Y positions can
give strange results since the program doesn't do any internal
checking. The program also doesn't have any internal time checking,
so if a user spends 2 hours in the chatter, thats no problem.
But watch out when entering the board again, he will probably
be kicked out :) And when logged on locally, DAMchat will always
display on the commandline "Dude from Local at 0 bps".

* You can define 100 macro's in the file DAMCHT.MAC. A file with examples
is included. All lines are in the format

  <original>,<text to replace with>

─ DÆMCHÆT in REMOTE ACCESS ────────────────────────────────── Generation I ─

* Setting up DamChat in Remote Access

This works basicly the same as with any other chatter, just put
in your global menu an execute type-7 option containing the following
  data:

  *C /C C:\<PATH>\DAMCHT.EXE -C:\RA\

─ DÆMCHÆT in PCBOARD 15.x ────────────────────────────────── Generation I ─

* Setting up DamChat in PCboard

This couldn't be easier! PCB generally has only _VERY SLOW_ and not very
sysop and userfriendly chatters in PPE.. this door can also be used
in PCBOARD! just do the following:

Make an entry in your doors menu with the keyword/batchname "CHAT".
Set the swap field at "S" to make PCB swap out, and toggle the DOOR.SYS
field to "yes" so pcb makes a door.sys. Damchat needs this file for
  various info.

then go to your dos and edit the batchfile CHAT, and put the following
  line in it:

  C:\<PATH>\DAMCHT.EXE PCB YELL -C:\PCB\

The next step is to go to your CMD.LST editor in PCBSETUP.
Enter in the command field: "O" . Then go to the "keystrokes to replace"
field and enter the line "OPEN CHAT". When the users enters "O" at the
commandline prompt DamChat will pop up! happy chatting dudes ;)

What are the keys in chat-mode?

Simple here's a short list, however, you do not need it because there's
  a built-in help-screen available when chatting under F1.

  F1 - helpscreen
  F2 - screendump to file DAMCHT.DMP
  F3 - not used (yet)
  F4 - change between xy-coordinate sets
both chat-screens are cleared when changing xy-set
  F5 - (de-)activating eLiTe-style chatting
                  this feature enables forced elite-chatting
F6 - (de-)activating chatting in both local and remote
chatwindow. (the remote user is not able to chat anymore)
  F7 - (de-)activating remotechatwindow
the user will not be able to chat
                  * this will override the function under F6 !!
  F8 - (de-)activating lowchar-mode
all characters are forced into lowercase!
                  * this will override elite-style chatting...
  F9 - (de-)activating lowcolor-mode
the lowercase-color is used for ALL characters
                  * this will override elite-style colors
  F10 - not used (yet)
  ESC - quit the chatter
  CTRL_W - Wipe your chatwindow
                  * this function will also wipe the remote screen if
                    you have F6 enabled!
  CTRL_R - Redraws the screen
                  * do not use this key when chatting with F6
this will cause redraw to happen twice!

That's all for now folks.. contact me if you want more/other functions
  within the chatter!
