Generating Chat Service Performance Logs
To generate Chat Service performance data, you need to capture the Chat Service,
Process, Processor, System, and Memory objects on each chat server.
To generate performance logs
- From the Start menu, choose Programs, choose Administrative Tools (Common), and then choose Performance Monitor.
- From the View menu, choose Log.
- From the Options menu, choose Log.
- Set the update time. Use a 10-minute to 15-minute interval for trending and a 10-second to 15-second interval for troubleshooting performance problems.
- In the File name box, type the name of the log file, and then choose Save.
- From the Edit menu, choose Add To Log.
- Select a chat server.
- Select each object you want to capture, and then choose Add.
- Repeat steps 7 and 8 for each chat server you want to gather performance data from.
- Choose Done when you are finished.
- To save the log settings, choose Save Log Settings from the File menu. Type the name of the file where you want to save the settings, and then choose Save.
- From the Options menu, choose Log, and then choose Start Log. The file size increases as logging begins. Because the server is logging the data, you can minimize the window.
To stop logging
- From the Options menu, choose Log, and then choose Stop Log.
