Closing a Persistent Channel

Complete the following steps to close a persistent channel. Closing a channel removes all members from the channel and then closes the channel.

To close a persistent channel

1. From the Chat Service Manager utility, select a chat server under Microsoft Exchange Chat Service in the left pane.
2. Select Channels (Rooms) in the left pane.
3. In the right pane, select the channel that you want to close.
4. From the Action menu, choose Task, and then choose Close channel. This performs the same action as the IRC KILL channel command and the chatcmd /KillChannel option.
5. If you want to indicate why you are closing the channel, type the reason in the Reason box; otherwise, choose Close.
6. Choose Yes.
