Banned Users: General Property Sheet

Use this property sheet to ban a user from the chat server or to modify the information associated with an active user ban.

This property sheet contains the following options.

Option Description
Nickname

Designates the nickname of the user you want to ban. The nickname is limited to 23 characters and accepts an asterisk (*) and a question mark (?) as wildcard characters.

User name

Designates the account name of the user you want to ban. The user name is limited to 63 characters and accepts an asterisk (*) and a question mark (?) as wildcard characters.

Domain name

Designates the Domain Name System (DNS) domain or IP address of a single computer or group of computers you want to ban. The domain name is limited to 127 characters and accepts an asterisk (*) and a question mark (?) as wildcard characters.

Connection time

Designates the period of time that the ban is active. All times are Universal coordinated time (UTC), which is also known as Greenwich mean time (GMT).

Start time designates the time this ban takes effect.

Stop time designates the time this ban ends.

Banned users who try to log on to the server between the start and stop times are denied access to the server.

Important The time period you set must fall between 12:00 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. For example, a valid time is 1:00 a.m. to 6:30 a.m.; an invalid time is 11:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m.

Reason for ban

Designates the reason for banning the user. The service displays this text to the user. The reason is limited to 63 characters.
