Channels (Rooms): Profanity Filter Property Sheet

Use this property sheet to indicate the type of messages you want to filter in a persistent channel and to choose the filter you want to apply to the channel.

This property sheet contains the following options.

Option Description

Do not filter messages
Directs the Profanity Filter extension not to filter messages sent to the channel.

Filter messages
Enables message filtering for the channel. When you enable filtering, you can apply a specific filter and indicate whether you want the filter to apply to all messages in the channel or to only those messages sent to all channel members.

Select filter
Directs the Profanity Filter extension to apply a selected filter to messages in this channel. Select the drop-down menu and choose the list you want to apply. If you need to create a filter, go to the service's Profanity Filter property sheet and choose Edit lists.

(Apply to) All messages
Directs the Profanity Filter extension to apply the selected filter to all messages sent to channel members. This includes all join or part messages and private (member-to-member) messages sent using the PRIVMSG, WHISPER, and NOTICE commands.

(Apply to) Only messages sent to entire channel
Directs the Profanity Filter extension to apply the selected filter only to messages sent to all channel members. In this case, member-to-member messages sent using the WHISPER command are not subject to filtering.
