Managing Server Extensions

Complete the following steps to add or delete server extensions, or to change the priority of an extension.

To add an extension

  1. From the Chat Service Manager utility, select a chat server under Microsoft Exchange Chat Service in the left pane.
  2. Select Extensions in the left pane.
  3. From the Action menu, choose New, and then choose Add extension.
  4. Select the extension in the list, and then choose OK. The extension is displayed in the right pane.

    Each extension you add assumes the lowest priority by default. To change an extension's priority, select the extension, and then from the Action menu, choose Task, and then choose Move up or Move down.

To remove an extension

  1. From the Chat Service Manager utility, select a chat server under Microsoft Exchange Chat Service in the left pane.
  2. Select Extensions in the left pane.
  3. In the right pane, select the extension you want to remove.
  4. From the Action menu, choose Delete, and then choose OK.

To modify the order in which Chat Service applies an extension

  1. From the Chat Service Manager utility, select a chat server under Microsoft Exchange Chat Service in the left pane.
  2. Select Extensions in the left pane.
  3. In the right pane, select the extension you want to reorder.
  4. From the Action menu, choose Task, and then choose Move up or Move down. These buttons change the priority of adjacent extensions in the list.
