To Set Up a Profanity Filter for the Channel

If you want to prevent specific words from being displayed in channel messages, you must create a list of those words and then apply the list to the channel.

Create a filter

  1. Select the chat server, and then select Extensions in the left pane.
  2. Verify that the Profanity Filter extension is displayed in the right pane. If it is not, from the Action menu, choose New, and then choose Add extension. Select the Profanity Filter extension, and then choose OK.
  3. Select the Profanity Filter extension in the right pane, and then from the Action menu, choose Properties, and then choose Edit Filters.
  4. Choose Add Filter.
  5. Type a name in the Filter name box, and then choose OK.

Add words to the filter

  1. From the Edit Filters dialog box, select the filter you just created, and then choose Add.
  2. Type a word in the Word box.
  3. Type a message in the Response to user of filtered word box, and then choose OK. This is a private message sent to the channel member who uses the word.
  4. Repeat the preceding steps to add additional words.

Apply the filter to the children's channel

  1. Select the channel in the right pane.
