PROCOMM PLUS for Windows Version 2.11 UPDATE - UPDATE.TXT Upgrading PROCOMM PLUS for Windows Version 2.0 to Version 2.11 IMPORTANT: Do not perform this upgrade while running Windows! Be sure to exit Windows completely and run the UPDATE program from the DOS prompt. IMPORTANT: If you add program features with the Custom Install option after you've updated to PROCOMM PLUS for Windows 2.11, note that you must follow these instructions again to update the new features to version 2.11. For example, if you didn't install CISMGR during your original 2.0 installation and you update to version 2.11, you must repeat the update procedure after adding CISMGR. If you originally chose the Express Install option, you need only update once. Follow these steps to update an existing installed copy of PROCOMM PLUS for Windows version 2.0 to version 2.11: 1. From the DOS prompt, type: UPDATE and press Enter. UPDATE will attempt to locate three directory pathnames: your Windows directory, your PROCOMM PLUS directory and your ASPECT directory. If these directories are not correct, enter the right pathnames. UPDATE will display status messages and report any errors as it performs the upgrade. 2. Run Windows and then run PROCOMM PLUS. Under the Help menu, click on the About PROCOMM PLUS item; if the version reported is 2.11, you have successfully updated PROCOMM PLUS. 3. You may wish to repeat Step 2 for each of the utility programs included with PROCOMM PLUS for Windows (the User Window Builder, the Dialog Editor, the GIF viewer, the Convert program and the Windows ASPECT script compiler). 4. Using the Windows WRITE program, review the 21NEW.WRI and 21LIST.WRI in the PROCOMM PLUS for Windows home directory. 5. After all files have been successfully updated, the UPDATE program automatically deletes the files included in the archive except READ.ME. However, you may delete PW211.EXE and any remaining copies of the archive files (UPDATE.EXE, PATCH.EXE, PATCH.DRF, READ.ME , ASPECT.RTP, HELP.RTP, PW211.RTP, SYSTEM.RTP) to conserve disk space.
