Database setup
──────────────

System: @API$(11)

This screen lets you define the @API$(113) database for this system.
You can move through the conferences on the screen by using the
arrow keys on your keypad.  (NOTE: You cannot use the LEFT or RIGHT
arrows while in the "Days to Keep" or "Messages Imported" fields).

If you wish to see more conferences you may use the PgUp or PgDn keys
to scroll conference screens.  You can move 100 conferences in either
direction by holding down the CTRL key while pressing PgUp or PgDn.

Press the ESC key to exit this screen and return back to @API$(113).


Import Messages
───────────────
You can toggle this field to YES or NO by pressing the SPACE BAR.
If this field shows "YES" then @API$(113) will import messages from
a QWK mail packet into the database.


Delete Msgs Read
────────────────
If this field shows "YES" then @API$(113) will delete any messages
you have read when you next perform a PACK on the database.


Delete Keep Messages
────────────────────
Normally, you would not want to delete "Keep" messages from your
database.  "Keep" messages are messages you wish to keep and protect
from being packed out of the database.  You can toggle the "Keep"
flag on a message while reading the message in @API$(113) and pressing
the CTRL+K keystrokes.

If this field is set to "YES" then @API$(113) will ignore the "Keep"
message flags and pack out the "Keep" messages in this conference.


Days to Keep Msgs
─────────────────
This field tells @API$(113) how many days you wish to keep messages
on file for this conference in the database.  Once a message is older
than this date then the next time you pack the database the message
will be removed, even if you haven't read the message.

Note that @API$(113) does not use the date the message was written
but rather the date you imported the message into the database to
determine the age of the message.

Remember that @API$(113) will only let you read up to 400 messages
in a conference.  You may need to lower the number of days you keep
messages on file in order to read all of the new messages.  If you
have EMS memory available you can use the /EMS switch when starting
@API$(113) to increase the number of messages available per conference.


Messages Imported
─────────────────
This is a running total of the number of messages imported into the
conference by @API$(113).


Cloning conferences
───────────────────
You can easily 'clone' the setup of one conference to other conferences
in the database.  Position the cursor on the conference you wish to use
as the SOURCE and then press ALT+C and answer the questions.


Zeroing totals
──────────────
You can also zero out the "Messages inserted" totals by pressing the
ALT+Z key combination.  You will be asked to enter the starting and
ending conferences to zero.
