Tape-it Lite for Imation Uninstall Procedure for Windows 3.XX Use this procedure to uninstall Tape-it Lite. If you installed Tape-it Lite somewhere other than in C:\PG, refer to that directory instead of C:\PG in the instructions below. From Windows: 1. In File Manager, close any open windows displaying tape directories. 2. Delete the Tape-it icon from the Startup group. 3. Delete the Tape-it Program Group. From DOS: 4. Remove the environment variable PG by typing "SET PG=" followed by return. From Windows or DOS: 5. Remove references to "PG" from the following files: AUTOEXEC.BAT Remove SET PG=C:\PG Remove the MSCDEX line, and if there is an MSCDEX line before it beginning with 'REM' and the lines are bracketed by "Tape-it Setup Modification Begin/End" lines, delete the REM' from the MSCDEX line. Remove C:\PG\PGLOADIR -I CONFIG.SYS Remove DEVICE=C:\PG\DPMS.EXE (if present) Remove DEVICE=C:\PG\PGQFT.SYS ... (if present) Remove DEVICE=C:\PG\PGCDEXIF.SYS ... (may be more than one) WINFILE.INI (usually in C:\WINDOWS) Remove PGTape Extension=C:\PG\PGTFMX.DLL WIN.INI (usually in C:\WINDOWS) If present, remove C:\PG\PGTPHWIN.EXE from the "LOAD=" line From Windows using the File Manager: 6. Remove the directory buffer file. To find its location, look in the file C:\PG\PGTAPEDR.INI for the line 'DirectoryBuffer=C:\TAPE-x.DIR', where 'x' is the drive letter associated with your tape drive. The file will usually be located at the root of C:. Since it is a system/hidden file, to see it you will have to set the 'Show Hidden/System Files' option under View / By File Type. 7. Remove the C:\PG directory, and all its subdirectories. Note: when File Manager indicates that some files are system/read-only, confirm that you want them deleted. 8. Reboot. You have uninstalled Tape-it Lite.
