             IMPORTANT PRINTER DRIVER INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

                         MICROSOFT WORKS VERSION 3.0
                           HP LASERJET 4P PRINTER


     INSTALLING AND SELECTING A PRINTER DRIVER

     After you have used the DRIVER4P program to install your printer
     driver, you need to use the steps listed below to select and
     configure the printer driver in Microsoft Works.

     SELECTING AND CONFIGURING A PRINTER DRIVER

     To select the HP LaserJet 4P printer driver you installed with the
     DRIVER4P program, start Microsoft Works 3.0 and follow these steps:

     1.   Select the PRINT menu, then choose the PRINTER SETUP command.

     2.   Verify that you are using the HP LaserJet 4P printer driver.
          If another printer driver is shown, select the "Change Printer
          & Option" button, then select the HP LaserJet 4P driver from
          the "Available Printers" list box.

     Note   If the HP LaserJet 4P printer is not shown under "Available
            Printers," choose the INSTALL NEW button; type in the name
            of the subdirectory where the driver files reside (for
            example, C:\Works), then press [Enter].  Highlight "Laserjet
            4P," choose the INSTALL button, then choose the DONE button
            twice.

     3.   At the PRINTER SETUP menu, make the following settings, if
          necessary:

          GRAPHICS - Choose HPGL2.

          PAPER SOURCE - Choose "Automatic".

          PAGE FEED - Choose "Continuous."

          PORT - Choose the communications port you are using (for
          example, LPT1, LPT2, COM1, or COM2).

     4.   After making the above settings, choose the OK button to save
          your selections and return to a document screen.
