Lotus printer device drivers are software programs that enable
printers to print text and graphs from Lotus 1-2-3 Release 2.3/2.4 on
DOS-based PCs.

The DeskJet 310 color driver included on the "Printer Drivers for DOS
Applications HP DeskJet 310" diskette is intended to create color output in the
WYSIWYG (:Print) publishing environment of 1-2-3 for DOS.  This driver is not
intended for use in the 1-2-3 native mode (/Print).  However, the "HP DeskJet+
and 500" driver (shipped with 1-2-3) allows monochrome printing from the
1-2-3 native mode.

The installation steps below refer only to installing the color driver on the
DeskJet 310 DOS driver disk.  Use normal Lotus 1-2-3 installation steps to
select the "HPDeskJet+, and 500" driver.

To properly install the printer driver files for your DeskJet 310 printer,
run the Lotus INSTALL program from your hard disk, then insert the "Printer
Drivers for DOS Applications HP DeskJet 310" diskette in a floppy drive when
prompted.  For additional information refer to the instructions in Chapter 4 of
the Lotus Getting Started manual (if you have Release 2.3) or Chapter 5 of the
Lotus Getting Started manual (if you have Release 2.4).

Follow these guidelines:
 1. Select "Change Selected Equipment".
 2. Select "Add New Drivers to the Library".
 3. Insert the DeskJet 310 Printer Driver Disk into a floppy drive.
 4. Type the letter of the floppy disk drive when prompted by the Lotus INSTALL
    program (e.g., A or B) and press <Enter>.
 5. Select "Modify the Current Driver Set".
 6. Select "Graphics Printer", "HP", then "DeskJet 310".
 7. Select "Return to Previous Menu".
 8. Select "Save the Current Driver Set", then <Enter> to accept the
    default 123 file name.
 9. Press <Enter> at the "GENERATING FONTS" screen.
10. Highlight one of the font options ...then press <Enter>.
11. Highlight "Yes" (if prompted for) ...then press <Enter>.
12. Press any key to complete the installation.

&d1D(s3BSetting Up in WYSIWYG Mode&d@(s0B
 The following steps assume that the WYSIWYG add-in program is loaded.
 In general, you should do the following:
 1. Select ":", Print, Config, Printer  ...then use the arrow keys to 
    select "HP DeskJet 310 Paper" as the printer and media type.
 2. Press <Enter>.
 3. Select Interface  ...then use the arrow keys to select the port that
    your printer is connected  ...then press <Enter>.
 4. Select Bin, then Single-Sheet.
 5. Press <Enter>.
 6. Select the Orientation (Portrait or Landscape) ...then press <Enter>.
 7. Select Quit twice to return to your spreadsheet.

The following steps assume that the WYSIWYG add-in program is loaded.
 1. Select ":" to access the WYSIWYG command line.
 2. Select Print, Range, Set ...to select the cells you want to print.
 3. Select Go  ...to print.

 1. The DeskJet 310 color printer driver is intended for use in WYSIWYG.
 2. Color graphics will print on either paper or transparencies.
 3. For normal printing in WYSIWYG, set the Paper Bin setting to
    "Single-Sheet" for correct page output.
    Select ":", P(Print), C(Config), B(Bin), S(Single-Sheet).

This driver was designed to support the graphic printing capabilities of
the DeskJet 310 printer in WYSIWYG mode.  For best results when printing
monochrome spreadsheets, it is recommended that you use the "DeskJet+,
and 500" driver (shipped with 1-2-3) in the 1-2-3 Native Mode for faster
results.

The 1-2-3 drivers contained on the "Printer Drivers for DOS Applications
HP DeskJet 310" diskette are licensed by Lotus Development Corporation,
solely for use by licensed users of 1-2-3 Release 2.3 or 2.4.
