The accompanying files contain a driver for HP plotters and printers from 
AutoCAD Release 12.  It uses the HP-GL/2 and HP RTL graphics languages.


Supported Devices
-----------------

o  Inkjet plotters:         HP DesignJet series
                            HP PaintJet XL300

o  Pen plotters:            HP DraftMaster series
                            HP DraftPro Plus 

o  Laser printers:          HP LaserJet III and IV

o  Any other HP device using HP-GL/2


To Install and Configure the Driver
----------------------------------- 

o  If you received this driver on a disk with your plotter, then use the 
   Step-by-Step Guide supplied.

o  Otherwise:

   1.  At the DOS prompt for the drive containing the driver disk, enter 
       INSTALL.  For example, at the prompt A:>, enter: 
       
         INSTALL <enter>

   2.  Answer the on-screen questions.  If in doubt, accept the defaults.

   3.  When you reach the end of the INSTALL routine, you can use a new 
       file it has created for more instructions.  The file is called
       HP_R12.DOC and contains the same information as in the Step-by-Step 
       Guide.  It is a simple ASCII text file and is rather long.

       (The rest of these instructions assume that you have just finished 
       INSTALL, during which you accepted all the default pathnames, and are
       therefore in the directory C:\ACAD\DRV\HPGL2.)

       *  To read HP_R12.DOC on screen, enter:

            TYPE HP_R12.DOC|MORE

          To quit the display of HP_R12.DOC, press Ctrl-C.

       *  To print HP_R12.DOC, enter:    
       
            PRINT HP_R12.DOC

          This will work if you have a printer directly connected to your PC.
