This installation guide describes:

o How to use EZStart to copy the EISA configuration files from
   the SuperDisk to your PC.

o The EISA configuration file for configuring an EISA
bus-compatible computer for use with SMC Ether 10/100 Fast
   Ethernet EISA Adapters

NOTE: Ensure that the line speed (10 Mbps vs. 100 Mbps) configured
for the adapter matches the speed of the hub to which it is
attached. It is important to set the adapter at the correct
line speed (10/100 Mbps) using the EISA Configuration Utility.
Refer to pages 3-3 and A-9 in the Ether 10/100 user guide for
further details. Refer also to the section in the EISA configuration
file !SMCA010.CFG (provided on this SuperDisk) titled
      "FUNCTION="Line speed selection".

COPYING SUPERDISK FILES

From the EZStart Driver Installation screen, select 'Copy Files'
to copy all the files from the SuperDisk to the Destination
Directory recommended by EZStart, or to a different directory
that you specify.

COPYING THE EISA CONFIGURATION FILE (!SMCA010.CFG)

The EISA configuration file (!SMCA010.CFG) is located in the
root directory of the SuperDisk. You can use this file in one
of three ways:

1. When prompted by your EISA Configuration Utility for this file,
you can insert the SuperDisk and specify the path as A:\.

2. You can copy !SMCA010.CFG using EZStart to the same directory
where your EISA Configuration Utility (ECU) is located
(e.g. C:\ECU). Your ECU should default to this path when searching
for the file, but if not, when prompted by your ECU for this file,
you can specify the appropriate path (e.g. C:\ECU).

3. If you have used EZStart to copy all SuperDisk files to a
directory on your computer's hard disk, and you are running EZStart
from the hard disk and not from the SuperDisk (floppy drive),
you can use EZStart to copy the EISA configuration file to
A:\ to create an installation diskette. When prompted by your
ECU for this file, you can insert the installation diskette and
   specify the path as A:\.
