T1108 LAN Support Program (LSP) driver installation for IBM PC 3270
3270 Installation for T1108
---------------------------
Some 3270 communications software packages, when installed on a PC with a
Token Ring adapter installed, will experience problems if the information
needed to configure the software in order to work with a network, cannot
be located in the adapter ROM.
TR2K3270.EXE is a terminate and stay resident (TSR) utility which
places a 256 byte data block in base memory between 512 KB and 640 KB.
This data emulates information normally found in the Token Ring adapter
ROM area, and is used in the case of a Token Ring adapter which has no
onboard ROM or which has ROM disabled.
This utility is similar in function to selecting the /AIB option on this
driver. If the /AIB option on the driver was enabled, this utility will
return an error and abort loading.
PC systems which use an extended BIOS data segment located at 639 KB in
memory will find that an additional 7.2 KB of RAM is allocated by this
utility to maintain the required 8 KB boundary alignment.
This utility may be called from a batch file with the following
ERRORLEVEL information returned:
ERRORLEVEL = 0 Program loaded normally
ERRORLEVEL = 1 Unable to register with TR2KASI.SYS
ERRORLEVEL = 2 TR2K3270 already installed (or /AIB option on ASI)
ERRORLEVEL = 3 Unable to allocate specified memory for data block
