 Installation Procedure of Windows 95 & Windows 95 OSR2(OEM Service Release 2)

   Location of Driver:     \WIN95\ne100tx.SYS


Assuming that Windows 95 is already installed and is working.

  1. After installing the Ethernet adapter in the computer and boot up the
     computer.

  2. Windows 95 detects the new hardware and installs the "PCI Fast Ethernet
     DECchip 21140 Based Adapter" driver for it:let it finish then restart the
     computer.

  3. Now we are about to remove the DEC driver and install the NDC 10/100 Auto
     PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter driver.

  4. Remove DEC driver.

        a. click the "Start" button.

        b. select "Settings" then open "Control Panel" window.
                                                                                             You must setup your driver as following procedure by manual.
        c. double-click "System" icon to open "System Properties" window.
                                                                                             1. When log into Windows 95, click on the "Start" icon ,then move the
        d. select "Device Manager" tab by single-click it.                                      mouse to "Settings" icon and click on the "Control Panel".

        e. double-click "Network Adapters" and select "PCI FAST Ethernet                     2. In the Control Panel window, click on the "Network" icon.

                                                                                                "Select  Network  Component Type"  dialog  box  appears, and select

        f. click "Remove" button.                                                            4. In the list of Manufacturers, select "Have Disk", and then choose the
                                                                                                "OK" button.
        g. click "OK" from "Confirm Device Removal" window.
                                                                                             5. Insert the 10/100 PCI EthernetCard driver diskette into floppy drive and
        h. click "Close" button to exit "System Properties" window.                             specify the LAN driver path, and then choose the "OK" button.



  5. In the Control Panel window, click on the "Network" icon.

  6. In the Network Configuration dialog box, choose the "Add.." button.
     "Select  Network  Component Type"  dialog  box  appears, and select
     "Adapter" icon.

  7. In the list of Manufacturers, select "Have Disk", and then choose the
     "OK" button.

  8. Insert the 10/100 Auto PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter driver diskette into
     floppy drive and specify the LAN driver path, and then choose the "OK"
     button.

        for example : A:\win95

  9. Then, you will see  "NDC 10/100 Auto PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter"
     in the Network  Configuration  dialog box, select it and then click
     on the "Properties"  button.

  10. In this dialog box, select "Resources ",the screen will come up with
      settings: IRQ  and  I/O address.  Make sure the  values that come up
      match the actual board settings( Automatic setting ).

  11. Restarting your system you will acquire network service.

                             configuration space.

                                           automatically


           o ReceiveBuffers:  Specify the size of the receive buffer's ring

                               Default : 16


           o StoreAndForward = Select the StoreAndForward mode if a low
                               PCI bandwith causes Transmit Underruns

                               Default : Store And Forward


           o TransmitThreshold = REG_DWORD { 160 }

                               Default : 160 bytes

           o Transmit Threshold 100Mbps

                               Default : 512

           o Burst Length
                               Default : 16 dwords
