TRCFG Version 1.52
==================
AT Plus and PNP Configuration Program
=====================================
The AT Plus adapter cards are fitted with 5 switches, but the bulk of
the configuration information is held in a CMOS device on the
adapter.
The switches are described in detail in the AT Plus installation
documentation, but of the 5 only the IO and ROM_ENABLE switches are
meaningful to the AT Plus configuration program.
At "power up" the contents of the CMOS device is compared with the IO
and ROM_ENABLE switches. If the comparason fails the card will be
disabled for use by the driver software until either the switches are
restored or until the AT Plus configuration program is run to correct
the CMOS contents.
As delivered the switches will match the factory default configuration
in the CMOS device and the card will be enabled.
If you wish to change the IO location or the status of the ROM_ENABLE
switch, you should alter these switches to match your requirements,
before installing the adapter, and then run the AT Plus configuration
program.
To run the AT Plus configuration program you should boot your system
under DOS and then enter :
TRCFG [command line options]
at the DOS prompt.
Just entering :
TRCFG
will cause the program to start and automaticaly identify the Video
Adapter type. If colour is supported it will CO80 mode, otherwise it
will use MONO mode.
Entering :
TRCFG /MONO
will cause the program to use only MONO screen mode.
The program uses a series of windows to allow the user to configure
the software configurable adapters, and help facilities are available
at all times.
The card will be directly configured unless the adapter in question
is currently running network software. In this case the user will be
advised that a HARD RE-BOOT is required.
The program will attempt to identify resources (such as DMA, IRQ and
I/O addresses) that are or may be being used by other devices in the
system, and will display a warning if those settings are chosen.
This utility now supports the configuration of Smart 16/4 Plug and
Play adapters.
These adapters would normaly be configured at system boot time by a
BIOS extension or by a PNP Configuration Manager (CM). However,
certain aspects of the configuration cannot be controlled by these
mechanisms and TRCFG now allows configuration of Ring Speed, bus
timing and Smart Rom usage. In addition these cards have a NON-PNP
mode that allows them to power up with a fixed configuration and
TRCFG allows this mode to be chosen and the power up defaults to be
selected.
Command Line Options

The only command line options currently supported are :-
/MONO - Use MONOCHROME screen modes only.
