2. Bugs Fixed
(b) USERS did not always correctly detect the maximum number of
connections for the particular version of Netware.
(c) USERS /a displayed the previous connection's network address for
an NLM, or garbage if the NLM had connection 1.
3. New Features
(a) USERS can display logins for members of selected groups.
(b) USERS can display logins or connections on all servers to which the
workstation is currently attached (previously it did the current
server, selected servers or all servers on the net).
(c) USERS can optionally display 30 character locations.
(d) USERS now accepts network addresses in addition to station addresses
in location.srt.
(e) DQUOTA, SDQUOTA and USERS have had their command line parsing
improved. Options may now be preceded by / or -, and invalid
options are rejected rather than ignored.

Displaying Users Logged In
--------------------------
USERS is an enhanced version of USERLIST. It has the following
advantages:
o Shows the user's full name as well as the username.
o Can show where a user is logged in.
o Shows the number of users logged in.
o Can show users logged in on all specified servers, all servers on the
network or all servers to which the workstation is attached.
o Can show all connections including those where no user is logged in.
o Can show members of selected groups who are logged in.
Usage: users [<options>]
options = /a Displays network addresses rather than the
fullname and login time.
/c Show all connections (includes workstations
which are connected to the server, but dont
have a user logged in).
/g=group(s) Select by group. Group names must be separated
by commas and up to 10 groups may be specified.
/l=location Displays all users at the specified location.
The location may be preceded or followed by a *
e.g. /l=h228* would display all users logged on
in H228.
/o Display a 30 character location and omit the
login date and time.
/n=network address
Show those users on a particular network
segment. Leading zeros may be omitted e.g.
/n=1b would show all users whose workstations
are connected directly to network 0000001B.
/p Display the output one screenful at a time.
/s=servers Displays a list of users on the named servers.
You may enter one or more server names (maximum
= 10) separated by commas; or '*' to indicate
all servers; or 'A' to indicate those servers
to which the workstation is currently attached.
/u=username Displays all users with the name specified.
The username may be preceded or followed by a *
e.g. /u=b* would display all users whose
username begins with b.
/? Displays help if it is the first option.
If a value contains a dash or slash, it must be enclosed in double quotes
e.g. users /u="smith-jones". To include a double quote in a value, use two
consecutively e.g. users /l=""the dungeon"" displays users logged on in "the
dungeon".
To show where users are logged in, USERS requires a database containing
station addresses and locations. This file must be named location.srt, must
contain one workstation address and location per line, and must be sorted
into ascending alphanumeric order by workstation address. The workstation
address may be either a 12 byte physical station address or the combined 8
byte network address and 12 byte physical station address separated by a
colon e.g. 00000001:0000C0123456. The network address must either be present
for all entries, or not used at all.
The location must be separated from the address by a single blank and may be
up to 30 characters long. By default, only the first 15 characters are
displayed, but the /o option forces USERS to suppress the login date and
time, and to display the full 30 character location.
An NLM (e.g. PSERVER) may have a connection number but no network address. In
this case USERS assumes a network and address of zero (i.e.
00000000:000000000000) and an entry may be included in location.srt for this.
Sorting can be done using the DOS SORT utility, and is required to maximise
the speed of operation of USERS. The file can be anywhere in the search path.
USERS has storage allocated for a maximum of 500 addresses/locations.
USERS will function without location.srt. It then displays the station
address rather than the location. It does the same if a particular station
does not have an entry in the file.

If the user does not have an existing connection to a server on which a
userlist is requested, USERS will attempt to attach as GUEST without a
password. If this fails, the user is prompted for a username and password.
This username/password combination is retained, and used, if required, on
subsequent servers. If both GUEST/no password, and username/password fail on
a subsequent server, the user is prompted for another username/password
combination to replace the previous one.
