This floppy contains the  NetWare 386  SCSI driver for the  Olivetti
EISA SCSI Controller (ESC-1).

For information about installation of the EISA SCSI Controller ESC-1,
refer in the "Installation and Operation Guide" for your system.

The  driver is named  OLIESC1.DSK and is installed as a loadable disk
driver module.

The  SCSI  driver should be used to meet the following requirements:

1)   For increased fixed disk performance

2)   To support more than 2 disks. The ISADISK.DSK supports 2  disks
     only.The OLIESC1.DSK supports 2 ESC-1's with 7 SCSI  disks  per
     controller.

3)   To support disk duplexing with the ESC-1 ( 2  controllers  with
     drive mirroring).

4)   To support  2  ESC- 1 controllers  installed  in the system for
     optimum disk performance.

To install this driver follow the process detailed in the  Novell
NetWare 386  Installation  Guide, in the file server section.

The SCSI driver will have to be manually copied to :

A.   Your server boot diskette - or
B.   The server subdirectory in the DOS partition

This is covered in detail in the NetWare manual.

To  load  the  driver you should enter the following command at the
" : " prompt:

load <pathname>OLIESC1 <SLOT=n>

where n is the slot number.

Interrupts and I/O address are determined automatically.

After  loading, Driver version information is obtainable with the
command :

modules

or with the monitor utility described in NetWare 386 manual.

Suggested SETUP procedure for EISA 486 machines, running NetWare 3.x

A.   Install 1 or 2 ESC-1 in  slots  1-6, wich support Bus Master
B.   Run the Eisa configuration Utility to configure the ESC-1(s)

     The configuration should look as follows:

     Hard Disk Controller

     AT Compatible Disk Controller              Disabled
     SCSI ID Selection
      Drive 0 :                                 00
      Drive 1 :                                 01
     ROM BIOS Access Mode                       Full SCSI   (1)

     Direct SCSI                                Enabled

Notes :

(1)  This is the suggested configuration running NetWare.
     However,if you want to run applications in the DOS environment,
     prior to or after NetWare, the suggested value is:

     AT Compatible.
