This README file accompanies the asynchronous communication drivers for
external bridging.
These drivers were shipped with NetWare 286 2.1x, but not with NetWare 386
3.0. To use this bridge product with NetWare 3.0, do the following:
1) Copy the following files onto the BRGEN-1 diskette:
COMX.LAN
ACOMX.OBJ
BCOMX.OBJ
CCOMX.OBJ
DCOMX.OBJ
2) Run the BRGEN program on the BRGEN-1 diskette to generate BRIDGE.EXE.
If you want to configure the bridge software for a remote connection:
3) Copy the following files onto the SHGEN-1 diskette:
SCOMX.LAN
SCOMX.OBJ
4) Run the SHGEN program on the SHGEN-1 diskette to create a NetWare
shell for the remote workstation.
5) Run the ARCONFIG program, included with this package, to configure the
newly generated BRIDGE.EXE and IPX.COM files for remote use. (Note: this
is best done by copying the ARCONFIG files and BRIDGE.EXE and IPX.COM to a
hard disk or NetWare volume.)
Instructions for running BRGEN is found in the NetWare 286 External Bridges
Supplement shipped with NetWare 3.0 and NetWare 2.1x. Instructions for
running ARCONFIG can be found in the utility's help facility or in
MANUAL.TXT included in this package.
The LCONSOLE utility supplied with this package is used to change the
parameters of the remote connection while the bridge is running. It allows
you to establish, view the status of, and terminate a connection. It can
also be used to reset a modem. MANUAL.TXT includes instructions on using
LCONSOLE.
