ABSTRACT:

NDIR v4.25 (950714)PTF resolves problems when executing on a WFWG
(Windows for WorkGroups) redirected drive and a number of
disk/volume statistics using  /vol option.  It will work with all
4.x NetWare.

SYMPTOM:

SYMPTOM
 Using NDIR to search on a WFWG re-directed drive would result in
the following error being returned:

 NDIR-4.10-913: The specified directory cannot be found.

 SYMPTOM
 NDIR /vol would return incorrect numbers for the following:
 Space used by X entries.
 Space used if files were not compressed.
 Space used by compressed files.
 Space saved by compressing files.

 SYMPTOM
 NDIR.EXE doesn't handle over 4GB dirs or vols


SOLUTION: 

Apply the files found in 41NDIR.EXE
 For volumes over 4GB NDIR will display KB instead of bytes when
necessary.

Installation Instructions:

NOTE:  Always make a backup of applicable files before applying
new fixes.

 1)  Flag NDIR.EXE contained in the PUBLIC directory normal or
sharable, read/write.  Flag NDIR.MSG contained in the
PUBLIC/NLS/ENGLISH sub-directory normal or sharable, read/write. 
IE.

      FLAG NDIR.EXE N  -or-  FLAG NDIR.EXE S RW
      FLAG NDIR.MSG N  -or-  FLAG NDIR.MSG S RW

 2)  Rename NDIR.EXE contained in the PUBLIC directory to
NDIR.ORG.  Rename NDIR.MSG in the PUBLIC/NLS/ENGLISH
sub-directory to NDIRMSG.ORG. This is for backup purposes.

 3)  Copy the NDIR.EXE provided with this update into the PUBLIC
directory.  Copy NDIR.MSG provided with this update to the
PUBLIC/NLS/ENGLISH sub-directory.

 4)  Flag the new NDIR.EXE sharable, read only.  Flag the new
NDIR.MSG sharable, read only.  IE.
     
      FLAG NDIR.EXE S RO
      FLAG NDIR.MSG S RO
