Section 1 New Features and Changes
_________________________________________________________
CHANGES SINCE IWSP4a.EXE:
The LOADER.EXE dated 8/21/98 from Support Pack v4.0 causes the server to go
into DOS real mode frequently. By going into DOS real mode fequently, problems
were uncovered with storage device drivers. For additional detail reference TID
2935517.
CHANGES SINCE IWSP3a.EXE:
The ENGLISH directory was renamed to /4.
Support was added for the new hardware hot plug-and-play feature.
There are updates to most of the files that were contained in the previous
intraNetWare Support Pack - for example, updates to the Name Spaces, Core OS,
Loader, CLIB, TCPIP and IPX protocols, etc. Also included are the patches
NIP202.EXE, UXP202.EXE, IPX65B.EXE, ODI33e.EXE, ODIWAN1.EXE and TCPN04a.EXE.
The total download file size was reduced by creating common directories for
shared files. For example, NetWare IP and UNIX Print Services now have a shared
directory named NWIPUXP

file must be extracted in a root level directory on your local drive or on a
NetWare volume that accepts longer paths.
2. At the server console prompt, type LOAD INSTALL <Enter>.
3. Select "Product Options".
4. Select "Install a Product Not Listed".
5. Depending on where the intraNetWare Support Pack files are located,
complete one of the following steps:
A. From the local volume SYS:, press <F3> and specify the path, including
the volume name (e.g., SYS:\(directory name).
B. From a different server on the network, press <F3> and specify the
full path including the server name (e.g., Server_Name\VOL1:\directory name).
This step prompts for a login name and password for the other server.
C. From a local drive on a client using RCONSOLE, press <F4>.
6. Press <Enter>.
7. Press <F10> to accept the marked options and continue.

Section 3 Notes
_________________________________________________________
NDS Manager program for both Windows 95 and Windows NT:
After intraNetWare Support Pack v4.0 is installed, this program is located in
the SYS:PUBLIC/WIN95 directory. To use with Windows NT, launch the NDSMGR32.EXE
program from the SYS:PUBLIC/WIN95 directory. Another option is to copy the
NDSMGR32.EXE to the SYS:PUBLIC/WINNT directory.
LSPUPD.NLM:
This NLM program is run only once, during the installation of intraNetWare
Support Pack v4.0. This resolves a problem with services being lost on large
NLSP and RIP/SAP networks that contain a high number of SAPs and RIPs. This NLM
program increases the LSP size to 1024. If the size is 1024 or larger, no
change will be made. This NLM program edits the SYS:\ETC\NLSP.CFG file, which
can be viewed using INETCFG.NLM. This issue only occurs on servers configured
for NLSP.
==================================================
Section 4 Files in the \MISC Directory
_________________________________________________________
The files located in the \MISC directory are not automatically installed, they
require manual installation.
ODI v3.31 Specification Drivers:
To install the ODI v3.331 files follow steps 1 - 10 in the installation
instructions, but point to the \MISC\ODI331 for installation.
NetWare SFT III:
SFTDPPSM.NLM is copied to the /MISC directory. NetWare SFT III users with two
processors in each machine need to manually copy SFTDPPSM.NLM to the server
boot directory, usually C:\NWSERVER. This only works with the MPS14.PSM module,
which is written to the Intel MPS 1.4 specification.
W95TSA.EXE:
Copy to the local Win95 client. This file is an update to the Windows 95
Target Service Agent (TSA) used to backup local drives to the server. This is
for use with SMS compliant backup products, such as SBACKUP.NLM. The W95TSA.EXE
program is located in the /MISC directory.
NE3200.COM:
The NE3200.COM file is copied to the /MISC directory. If you are installing a
NetWare 4.11 server containing a Novell NE3200 network board across the
network, you need this updated LAN driver to prevent the server installation
from hanging.
SECURE.NCF
For enhanced security, copy the file SECURE.NCF from /MISC to the server
SYS:SYSTEM directory and execute from the server console. Read the notes
inside the SECURE.NCF file prior to loading.
NWIPWIN.EXE
Copy to the local DOS/WIN Client
NWIP.EXE
Copy to the local DOS/WIN Client
TCPIP.EXE
Copy to the local DOS/WIN Client

Section 5 Issues and Tips
_________________________________________________________
ISSUE 1
When the intraNetWare Support Pack is installed, SERVER.EXE will be updated
with the current version of LOADER. Some customers have indicated that the
modified version of SERVER.EXE becomes corrupted and displays the following
message: "LOADER-4.10-19: Error reading load file C:\NWSERVER\SERVER.EXE". This
corruption has been linked to the DIE_HARD virus.
Solution:
1-Scan for viruses on the DOS boot drive of the file server, as well as any
locations that the patch kit may have been copied to. Novell has ensured that
the virus has not been encapsulated in the compressed Support Pack file.
2-Rename SERVER.OLD (or MSERVER.OLD if running NetWare SFT III) to SERVER.EXE
(or MSERVER.EXE).
3-RUN LSWAP.EXE. Usage: LSWAP [LoaderFilePath [ServerFilePath]]
Default LoaderFilePath = C:\NWSERVER\LOADER.EXE
Default ServerFilePath = C:\NWSERVER\SERVER.EXE (or MSERVER.EXE)
4-Run the newly modified SERVER.EXE (or MSERVER.EXE).
ISSUE 2
Problem: In NetWare for OS/2, when the intraNetWare Support Pack is installed,
it is possible to see the following error: "File C:\NWSERVER\LOADER.EXE (or
LSWAP.EXE) cannot be opened". Error: Error Code 87 (57hex) Install 4.11-235
Press <Enter> to continue
Solution: Manually copy the LOADER.EXE and LSWAP.EXE files to the boot
directory, usually C:\NWSERVER (the LOADER.EXE and LSWAP.EXE files are located
in the PK411 directory). At the OS/2 window, run LSWAP.EXE (this only needs to
be run once). Type LSWAP LOADER.EXE SERVER.EXE <Enter>.
ISSUE 3
If, for some reason, the server fails to boot after installation, then you
will need to manually rename the SERVER.OLD file to SERVER.EXE to bring the
server back up.
ISSUE 4
If you remove DOS, you must restart the server with DOS active in order to
install the intraNetWare Support Pack. This is because some files cannot be
copied to the DOS partition unless DOS is active.
ISSUE 5
In order to install updates to services that are English-only, the server
language must be set to English. The English-only products in the Support Pack
are the files under the \4 directory.
ISSUE 6
If DHCP v2.00I is already installed, the intraNetWare Support Pack does not
install v2.10J.
ISSUE 7
Remote Boot and RPL do not work with the Task 0 fix located in the PK411.NLM
patch. Reference TID 2930738.
TIP 1
It is possible to create other directory structures to accommodate your needs.
When extracting the intraNetWare Support Pack file, the \COMMON\PK411 and
\COMMON\SYS directories are created. These directories are available for
installing other files, such as NLM programs. The script file will copy files
from the \COMMON\PK411 directory to the location where SERVER.EXE or
MSERVER.EXE resides on the server boot drive. The script file will also copy
files from the \COMMON\SYS directory to volume SYS:. It is possible to create
other directory structures to accommodate your needs.
Example:
This example illustrates how this concept works. By default there are two
directory structures; \COMMON\PK411 and \COMMON\SYS\SYSTEM. If a disk driver
needs to be updated on the boot directory (C:\NWSERVER), copy the .DSK file to
the \COMMON\PK411 directory. If an NLM program needs to be updated on
SYS:\SYSTEM, copy the .NLM or .LAN file to the \COMMON\SYS\SYSTEM directory.
If a file needs to be updated in any other path, such as SYS:\ETC, create a
directory under COMMON\SYS and copy the file to directory \COMMON\SYS\ETC.
CAUTION: Do not delete any files shipped with the intraNetWare Support Pack
with the intent that they will not be installed. Various NLM programs may have
dependencies on each other, and by deleting one NLM program you may cause
another one to fail, resulting in a server ABEND. On the other hand, you may
add files so that the intraNetWare Support Pack installation program will
install them.
Information on a custom network install reference TID 2930357
TIP 2
Additional Information about the intraNetWare Support Pack installation:
1. The intraNetWare Support Pack files are copied to the server.
2. LSWAP will automatically update SERVER.EXE with a new LOADER.EXE.
3. A record will be added to the Btrieve PRODUCTS.DAT file, in the
"Installed Products" section, and the following will appear: "v4.0 Support Pack
for NetWare 4.11 (9/97)". Any other product updates will also be listed.
TIP 3
The intraNetWare Support Pack installation detects the current server
configuration and installs the appropriate files. If the server configuration
is changed, you will need to reinstall the intraNetWare Support Pack for the
new configuration--for example, changing from NetWare SFT III to intraNetWare.
TIP 4
Novell tested the intraNetWare Support Pack v4.0 with the following Novell
products or services: Web Server v3.1, NetWare for SAA v2.2, Unix Print
Services v2.11b, ManageWise v2.1, NetWare IP v2.2, NFS v2.12, GroupWise v5.1,
NetWare Connect v2.0, SBACKUP.NLM (tested for any SMS-compliant backup),
NetWare for Macintosh v4.11, NIAS v4.0 (includes MPR 3.1), MultiProtocol Router
v3.0, NDPS 1.0, NRS 1.1 and Border Manager. Testing was performed on the
following platforms: NetWare SMP, NetWare for OS/2 and NetWare SFT III. Novell
has encouraged third parties to test their products with intraNetWare Support
Pack by providing them with an Alpha copy and advance notice of the release
schedule.
TIP 5
If the backup option is selected from the menu, files that will be
overwritten by installing the Support Pack are backed up to
SYS:SYSTEM/!BACKUP.SP4.
The server can be restored to it original state by doing the following:
WARNING: Do NOT do the following if any products or patches have been
installed after the installation of the intraNetWare Support Pack!
Roll Back Volume SYS:
1) From a workstation, map a drive to volume SYS:, change to that drive, and
change to the SYSTEM\!BACKUP.SP4\SYS directory.
2) Copy all files in this directory and its subdirectories the root of SYS:.
(Type XCOPY *.* \ /s /v).
Roll Back Boot Files
1) From a workstation, map a drive to the volume SYS:, change to that drive,
and change to the SYSTEM\!BACKUP.SP4\BOOT directory.
2) From RCONSOLE, press ALT <F1>,
3) Press Alt <F1> to bring up the RCONSOLE menu.
4) Choose the option "Transfer Files to the Server".
5) Type the letter of the drive mapped to SYS:\SYSTEM\!BACKUP.SP4\BOOT and
press <Enter>.
6) Type the path to the boot directory on the DOS partition (e.g.
C:\NWSERVER).
