EtherDisk Diskette for the EtherLink 16 Family
NetWare 4.0 Installation Help
The EtherLink 16 adapter is supported by the Novell NetWare 4.0 network
operating system. The adapter driver can be loaded after a standard
NetWare 4.0 installation. To install the adapter for the first time,
use the standard NetWare 4.0 installation instead of this utility. Type
LOAD INSTALL at the server console. Follow the screens for loading or
updating a LAN driver. Press <INS> and type the path A:\NETWARE\NW40.
This will copy the NetWare 4.0 server driver to the SYS:SYSTEM volume.
The 3C503.LAN driver for NetWare 4.0 works only in conjunction with
NetWare's 4.0 MSM.NLM and ETHERTSM.NLM.
This utility program updates the EtherLink 16 adapter driver
(LAN driver) on an existing NetWare 4.0 server. It updates the DOS
partition, or optionally the SYSTEM directory of the SYSTEM volume.
This utility program must be run on all Netware 4.0 servers with an
EtherLink 16 adapter installed.
To update the DOS partition, bring the server "DOWN" and exit to DOS.
Run the menus Update utility with the DOS partition as the target drive.
To update the SYSTEM volume, log in as Supervisor. Make sure to map to
the SYSTEM directory. Use the drive mapped to this directory for the
target drive.
This utility works for NetWare 4.0 only.
