        The supporting diskette ( rev 3.01 ) of PVI-486SP3 includes
     PFLASH utility, BIOS file, On-Board Local Bus IDE Driver, VGA&
     Mono Mode change utility and BIOS setting option.

<A>. Updating your system BIOS by PFLASH.EXE

      1. The PFLASH utility and BIOS file 'SI4Ixxxx.AWD' located in
         the BIOS sub-directory of Supporting diskette (Rev 3.01)

      2. Please refer to the "PNP.WRI" file

<B>. To install On-Board Local Bus IDE Driver

      1. Run SETUP.EXE to install WINDOWS 3.1, Workgroup for Windows 3.11
         and Netware 3.x-4.x drivers.

      2. You HAD BETTER install CD-ROM in second channel in Windows ( WFW ).

      3. To install sco-unix IDE driver, read readme.sco in SCO <DIR>.

      4. To install WINNT ..

           1) From the Options menu in "Windows NT setup", choose
              "Add/Remove SCSI Adapters.

           2) In the SCSI Adapter Setup dialog box, choose the "Add" button

           3) In the "Adapter:" list dialog box, choose
              "Other (Requires a disk from a hardware manufacturer)"

           4) Next, you will see the "Insert Diskette" dialog box,
              insert the SIS driver disk into Drive A: and type
                    "A:NT31"     ( for Windows NT 3.1 ),
                    "A:NT35"     ( for Windows NT 3.5 )
              into dialog box.

           5) Next, In "Select OEM Option" dialog box, choose
              "SIS 32-Bit Local Bus IDE Adapter" and
              click "OK."

           6) In the "Select SCSI Adapter Option" dialogbox, click on
              the "Install" button in the dialog box.

           7) Installation is successful if the "SCSI Adapter Setup" dialog
              box reappear, and "SIS 32-Bit Local Bus IDE Adapter" will be
              listed as an installed driver.

           8) Reboot your system.

      5. To install OS/2 ...

           1) From the OS/2 desktop, open OS/2 system.

           2) Open System Setup.

           3) Select Device Driver Install.

           4) Put the driver floppy disk in A:

           5) Select Install.

           6) Select OK.

<C>. VGA & Mono Mode change utility

    1.Added VGA_MONO.EXE file to support Mode change between VGA & Mono
      on DOS.

    2.To install the VGA_MONO.EXE utility.

        1). Set Video : EGA/VGA in Standard CMOS setup.

        2). Load VGA_MONO.EXE from supporting diskette utility directory.

           A:\Utility\VGA_MONO.EXE

<D>. BIOS setting option

    1. Onboard IDE Prefetch Buffer selection.

      1). Onboard IDE Prefetch Buf : Enable/Disable (Defaults : Enable)

      2). IDE Prefetch buffer setting option

        a.Disable the Onboard IDE Prefetech Buffer when using the PCI
          Bus Master card with on board IDE and IDE hard disk. (Recommend)

          PCI Bus Master: AHA-2940,NCR SC200, Cogent 964 PCI LAN card....

      3).Please using the defaults setting when only using the Onboard IDE
         without PCI bus Master card or without using the Onboard IDE.

         a.Please load the SiS Onboard IDE Windows NT & OS/2 driver when
           using the NT or OS/2 for system. (Recommend)
