9/14/95 The version of the Win 95 driver on this diskette has the following limitations. 1) Dual channel card problems -- There is a bug in Win 95 that prevents the second channel of a dual channel EISA from running. 2) Some older AdvanSys ISA controllers will lock up when Win 95 performs PnP initialization. This problem is exacerbated if the user selects "Refresh" from the Device Manager. There are several workarounds for this depending upon the configuration and needs of the system: WHILE THE BIOS IS RUNNING THE CARD: a) ISA BIOS version 2.25 or later includes an option to halt our RISC between accesses. This prevents the hang when the BIOS is running. b) Users who are NOT booting from a SCSI device attached to the ISA card can simply turn off the BIOS. ASC.MPD will control the card when it loads. WHILE THE MINIPORT DRIVER ASC.MPD IS CONTROLLING THE CARD: c) Do not use the Device Manager's Refresh option. d) If the Refresh option MUST be used, disable the "IO read data port for ISA Plug and Play enumerator" in device manager.
